Installation

Melbourne on CD, Sydney on CD, Central Coast on CD

Manual Installation

Normally, when the CD is inserted into the drive, the setup program will be automatically started.

If this doesn't happen, you can start the installation manually.

With the CD in the drive, double-click on the "My Computer" icon on your Desktop. Then double-click on the CD icon - it will be labelled "Setup".

This will start the setup program directly.

With the network version, install as above on the server. There will be a shortcut on the Start menu called Access Discway CD. Copy this shortcut to the desktop of the licensed client PCs. The user of the client PC can then double-click on this shortcut to complete the installation on their own PC. It is done this way so that the appropriate paths and permissions for the client PC are installed. However, no programs or maps are copied to the client PC.

Disk Space Requirements

By default, the setup program installs only the executable programs and the indexing files required for searching onto your hard drive. This requires around 45 MBytes of disk space.

Normally these files will be stored under a "DiscwayN.N" folder created under "C:\Program Files".  The "N.N" will be the version number.  You can select a different installation location if you desire.

Installed in this way, Melbourne / Sydney / Central Coast on CD access the map images from the CD so, of course, it must be in the CD drive to view any maps.

The installation program also allows you to copy the directory maps onto your hard drive. They will be copied into sub-directories under the DiscwayN.N program folder. In order to do this, you must have around 500 Mbytes of free disk space.
